One such database is the Fernridge Household Count. This database is perhaps the most reliable and accurate demographic dataset in South Africa and consists of up-to-date household and income information derived from high resolution, recent aerial photography and satellite imagery. The database is updated through fieldwork and the acquisition of new imagery.The Fernridge Retail Census is designed to do a 100% spatial retail positioning of national and independent retailers in South Africa. The process has started two years ago and a significant number of large towns has been captured and is available. Retailers are mapped with GPS precision. As part of our internal market intelligence, we constantly update other retail sets (e.g. all national food retailers, furniture, hardware, pharmacies etc.).
